Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team. As a Prior Authorization Specialist, you will be responsible for obtaining insurance authorizations for medical procedures and treatments. Your role will involve verifying insurance coverage, submitting necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Duties: - Review and verify insurance coverage for patients - Obtain prior authorizations for medical procedures and treatments - Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to gather necessary information - Submit required documentation and follow up on authorization requests - Maintain accurate records of authorizations and related documentation - Collaborate with medical billing team to ensure proper billing procedures - Stay updated on changes in insurance policies and guidelines - Provide excellent customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred - Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding - Familiarity with insurance verification processes and managed care plans - Proficient in using office software and electronic medical record systems - Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal - Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations If you are a motivated individual with a passion for ensuring patients receive the necessary medical care, we encourage you to apply for the position of Prior Authorization Specialist.
